I am Selena Brown, originally from Washington, DC.
Career Journey: I have been fortunate to have many careers to include: serving in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant, System Administrator/IT Project Coordinator, Certified Geriatric Caregiver, Business Owner-Videographer, and now focusing on Project Management. I believe that you should always stay true to yourself and focus on the purpose that God has destined for you. If you are unaware of your purpose, then it's okay to try different things until you find what makes you want to dance out of bed each morning.
Education: I have a Masters of Business Administration degree from Mt. Saint Mary's University (2018) in Los Angeles, CA and hope to focus on ways that I can use project management to help people solve real-world problems.
I also completed my performing arts training at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in Hollywood, CA (2007), trained with Mike Pointer of Hey, I Saw Your Commercial, Brian Reise Acting Studio, Adam Collis of the Director's Perspective, and the late Dolores Diehl for Voiceover training.
I believe that personal development and training is very necessary as a business professional and to be a well-rounded individual. There has definitely been many game-changers in my life and my career. However, all of these moments have given me the opportunity to acquire more wisdom, gratitude, and determination.
"What do I like to do for fun?: I am a foodie who enjoys cooking vegan dishes and desserts. I enjoy going to see theater and my favorite show is The Lion King, hands down! I learned how to salsa dance about eight years ago, so I like to salsa when I get the chance. It definitely gets the blood rushing, smiles on my face, and sweat running for a full-body workout. I enjoy getting a morning workout in before my day and sharing spiritual/inspirational tips I learn along the way using social media. I love traveling and taking road trips, discovering new places and cultures is a real treat for me. I really put on my thinking cap when I am sitting quietly at home and during my travels.
My passions: I acquired a love for filmmaking and directing in 2011. I began writing, directing, producing and starring in my own short film projects through my production company, SVB Productions. I have also worked with other actors on their passion projects as well. My small business, Capture Memories on Video, is a videography business for senior citizen events in Los Angeles, CA, which helps them to tell their story and leave their legacy for future generations.
Charity Work: I participate in charity events for feeding the homeless (Bags of Luv) and my most memorable charity event was the Live Below The Line Challenge to bring awareness to world hunger. After that experience, I have been truly grateful for each meal I eat.
Thank you for stopping by and getting to know me. I hope to learn more about you as well through my blog posts on this website.
All the best to you and yours,
