I find it very flattering when I am called out to audition for mom roles. In an upcoming music video, I played the role of, "Mother of the Bride".
Personally, knowing how far I have come:
as a serious, U.S Army soldier
to working in Corporate America as an information technology professional
now an actress and videographer
that's a golden nugget of insight!
We allow people to see certain parts of who we are on any given day and time. Then we leave the other parts hidden for only a select few. It's only during those intimate moments with ourselves, that we truly engage with our truest self. If we are fortunate enough to meet people who see who we are beyond the superficial, then that's Magical!
A mom is nurturing, a disciplinarian, but tender and loving. She is the one who bears children and stays close to watch them grow big and strong. She is also the one with the ability to multi-task in order to maintain some sense of balance within the family's daily bustle. There is a lot of responsibility that goes along with being a mom.
So, living in that world, as the "Mother of the Bride", for a day, was priceless.
